The story
Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash introduces a group of individuals who awaken in a mysterious fantasy realm with no memories beyond their names. Haruhiro, a thief, Manato, a priest, Yume, a hunter, Shihoru, a mage, Mogzo, a warrior, and Ranta, a dark knight, find themselves among those not chosen for stronger parties. With no other options, they reluctantly band together to form their own party and join the Reserve Army. Their mission is to eliminate threats to Grimgar, primarily goblins, as the only means of earning a living.
The series centers on this fledgling party’s struggle for survival in a brutal world where death is permanent. They must learn to fight, cooperate, and cope with the emotional toll of their dangerous new lives. The story is driven by their desperate need to earn money, acquire skills, and navigate the harsh realities of combat and loss. The stakes are their very lives, as they confront the constant threat of death and the psychological impact of killing to survive.
