The story
Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic Otaku, is unexpectedly transported to a parallel world. He finds himself one of four legendary heroes, each wielding a unique weapon and tasked with defending the world from impending destruction. Naofumi is designated the Shield Hero, a role initially perceived as the weakest.
Despite his vital role, Naofumi is quickly betrayed and left without resources. Penniless and isolated, he is forced to rely solely on his shield. Driven by a desire for survival and eventual retribution, Naofumi must learn to navigate this new, hostile world and rise to the challenge of becoming the legendary figure he was summoned to be, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance.
