The story
The narrative follows Kaede Honjou, a young woman who accepts an invitation from her friend, Risa Shiramine, to dive into a new virtual reality massively multiplayer online game. Though not averse to games, Kaede's primary concern is avoiding any in-game pain. To achieve this, she creates her character, Maple, and allocates all her initial skill points into vitality (VIT), aiming for maximum defense. This unconventional approach initially leaves her slow, unable to cast spells, and vulnerable to even minor enemies.
However, Maple's extreme focus on VIT unexpectedly grants her powerful skills, including "Absolute Defense," which nullifies all damage, and a "Counter Skill" that reflects special attacks. With her newfound invulnerability, Maple embarks on various adventures within the virtual world. The story explores her journey as she navigates the game, encountering challenges and other players, all while maintaining her unique, defense-oriented playstyle that continuously yields surprising results.
