The story
Makoto Edamura, a small-time Japanese con artist, believes himself to be Japan's best swindler, typically preying on the elderly and foreign visitors. His life takes an unexpected turn when he attempts to scam a seemingly naive French tourist in Tokyo. This encounter, far from a simple job, quickly spirals into a complex international affair, leading Makoto to Los Angeles and a precarious position on the Hollywood sign.
Entangled with a group of professional swindlers, Makoto finds himself traveling the world, participating in elaborate cons. The series follows his journey as he navigates this dangerous new world of high-stakes crime, constantly facing the consequences of his choices and the unpredictable nature of his new associates. The narrative explores the moral ambiguities of its anti-hero protagonist and the intricate web of international criminal enterprises.
