The story
The continent of Telesis is recovering from a devastating four-year war that divided its people. Violet Evergarden, a young woman known during the conflict as a weapon, seeks a new beginning at the CH Postal Service. There, she encounters the Auto Memories Dolls, individuals who translate people's thoughts and feelings into written correspondence. Deeply affected by their work, Violet decides to become an Auto Memories Doll herself.
This new profession drives Violet's journey of self-discovery. She travels, meeting diverse individuals and experiencing the complexities of human emotion and the various forms love can take. Throughout her experiences, Violet grapples with a particular phrase spoken to her on the battlefield by someone profoundly important to her. The meaning of these words remains elusive, and her quest to understand them is central to her rehabilitation and coming-of-age.
