The story
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (2013), directed by Ai Yoshimura, centers on high school student Hachiman Hikigaya. Hachiman holds an antisocial perspective, viewing his peers' youthful enthusiasm as insincere and expressing no ambition for his future. Due to his cynical nature and lack of social connections, he has neither friends nor a girlfriend.
A teacher intervenes, compelling Hachiman to join the Volunteer Service Club. There, he encounters Yukino Yukinoshita, a student widely regarded as the most attractive in their school. The series explores the dynamics between these two contrasting personalities as they navigate their club activities, assisting other students with their various problems, and delving into themes of school life, romance, and underlying philosophical questions.
