The story
The narrative of Angel Beats! centers on Yuzuru Otonashi, who awakens in an otherworldly high school with no recollection of his life. He quickly learns this is an afterlife where deceased teenagers reside, and a fierce conflict rages. Otonashi finds himself recruited into the Afterlife Battlefront, or SSS, a rebellious organization led by Yuri Nakamura. Their primary mission is to defy God and resist a seemingly angelic girl named Kanade Tachibana, whom they believe is an antagonist intent on their destruction.
As Otonashi navigates this unfamiliar existence, he joins the SSS in their daily battles against Kanade, utilizing various weapons and elaborate strategies. The core of the story revolves around Otonashi's quest to recover his lost memories and unravel the true nature of this afterlife. The stakes are high, as the SSS believes that succumbing to Kanade or adhering to the school's rules will lead to their ultimate disappearance, a fate they desperately try to avoid.
