The story

In the declining Sugomori City, high school student Katsuhira Agata finds himself unwillingly chosen as a "Kiznaiver" by the enigmatic Noriko Sonozaki. This selection forces him into the Kizuna System, an experimental program designed to achieve world peace by connecting individuals through shared pain. Katsuhira and six other classmates, each with distinct personalities and backgrounds, become linked: any physical wound one experiences is distributed and felt by all the others.

This involuntary connection compels the diverse ensemble cast to confront their differences and navigate the challenges of shared pain and burgeoning emotional bonds. The system's creators believe that by literally feeling each other's suffering, the Kiznaivers will develop empathy and understanding, ultimately fostering peace. However, the forced intimacy of the Kizuna System also brings to light complex interpersonal dynamics, including unrequited love and the ethical implications of human experimentation, as the teenagers grapple with their new, painful reality.
