The story
The story of Fate/Zero unfolds during the Fourth Holy Grail War, a brutal conflict for an artifact said to grant any desire. Seven mages, known as Masters, summon heroic spirits, or Servants, to fight on their behalf. Among them is Kiritsugu Emiya, a notorious "Magus Killer" hired by the Einzbern family, who seeks to secure the Grail by any means necessary. He is bound by contract and marriage to Irisviel, the family's daughter, and accompanied by his own Servant, Saber.
Kiritsugu finds himself in a cutthroat game of survival against six other participants, each driven by unique ideals and desires. A key opponent is Kirei Kotomine, a priest who pursues Kiritsugu in a quest to understand his own inner emptiness. This ensemble cast engages in a battle royale where ancient mythologies clash, and the ultimate prize promises to fulfill any wish, making the stakes incredibly high for all involved.
