The story
In Academy City, a hub of scientific advancement and superhuman abilities, Touma Kamijou possesses a unique power: his right hand, the Imagine Breaker, can nullify any supernatural force, be it magic, psychic powers, or divine intervention. His life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers a young nun, Index, on his balcony.
Index reveals herself to be a member of the Church of England, and her mind holds the Index-Librorum-Prohibitorum – a vast collection of banned magical texts. This forbidden knowledge makes her a target for various factions within the world of magic. Touma, with his ability to negate all supernatural threats, finds himself drawn into protecting Index and navigating the complex, often dangerous, conflicts between science and magic. The safety of Index and the secrets she carries become central to Touma's new reality.
