What is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 about?
After the disastrous food storm in the first film, Flint and his friends are forced to leave the town. Flint accepts the invitation from his idol Chester V to join The Live Corp Company, which has been tasked to clean the island, and where the best inventors in the world create technologies for the betterment of mankind. When Flint discovers that his machine still operates and now creates mutant food beasts like living pickles, hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees and apple pie-thons, he and his friends must return to save the world.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is a 2013 American computer-animated science fiction comedy film directed by Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn and written by Erica Rivinoja, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. A sequel to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) and the second installment in the franchise, it was produced by Sony Pictures Animation. Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Andy Samberg, Benjamin Bratt and Neil Patrick Harris reprise their roles from the first film, with Will Forte in a new role, Terry Crews replacing Mr. T and Kristen Schaal joining the cast. The plot focuses on Flint Lockwood and his friends returning to Swallow Falls when the presumed-destroyed FLDSMDFR resurfaces, this time creating sentient food creatures.
