The story
A demon-possessed boar attacks a mountain village, and Prince Ashitaka confronts the creature to protect his home. During the struggle, Ashitaka sustains a bite that leaves his arm cursed and blackened. Exiled according to his tribe's customs, he embarks on a journey to find a cure before the curse consumes him entirely.
Ashitaka's quest leads him to Iron Town, a fortress led by Lady Eboshi, which thrives on the destruction of the surrounding forests to produce ironsand for weaponry. This deforestation provokes the animal clans, who, led by the human girl San of the Wolf clan, seek revenge. Ashitaka finds himself caught in the escalating conflict between humanity and the forest's ancient gods, attempting to broker peace and understand the true nature of his curse. The fate of the forest and Ashitaka's own life hang in the balance.
