The story

An apprentice engineer, Pazu, discovers a young girl named Sheeta as she descends from the sky, wearing a glowing pendant. Both Pazu and Sheeta share a common goal: to locate the fabled floating castle, Laputa. They commit to uncovering the secret of the luminous crystal Sheeta wears.

Their journey to Laputa is fraught with danger and opposition. Greedy air pirates and clandestine government agents actively pursue Pazu and Sheeta, creating numerous obstacles that threaten to separate them and prevent them from reaching their destination and the truth about Laputa. The film explores the pursuit of a lost civilization, powered by steampunk technology, amidst aerial escapades and environmental considerations.
