The story
The narrative centers on Suzume, a 17-year-old living in a tranquil Kyushu town. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she encounters a mysterious young man searching for a particular door. Together, they discover an ancient door nestled within mountain ruins, and Suzume, driven by curiosity, opens it.
This initial act sets off a chain of supernatural events across Japan, as similar doors begin to manifest in various locations. Each newly opened door unleashes destructive forces from a hidden dimension, threatening widespread disaster. Suzume must embark on a journey across the country, driven by the urgent need to locate and close these perilous doors, thereby preventing further catastrophe and ensuring the safety of Japan.
