The story

The story of Dororo (2019) centers on Hyakkimaru, a young man cursed from birth. His father, a desperate feudal lord, sacrificed his unborn son's body parts to twelve demons in exchange for dominion over his lands. Born without limbs, eyes, ears, a nose, or a mouth, Hyakkimaru was abandoned but was later found and raised by a kind doctor who provided him with prosthetics and trained him in combat.

Now, Hyakkimaru roams a war-torn landscape, driven by a singular purpose: to reclaim his humanity. He discovers that defeating each demon restores a lost body part. Accompanied by Dororo, a young and resourceful orphan thief, Hyakkimaru embarks on a perilous journey, battling supernatural forces and seeking revenge against the demons and the father who condemned him. His quest for physical restoration is a fight for his very existence and a confrontation with the consequences of a terrible pact.
