What is La Chimera about?
Just out of jail, rumpled English archaeologist Arthur reconnects with his wayward crew of tombaroli accomplices – a happy-go-lucky collective of itinerant grave-robbers who survive by looting Etruscan tombs and fencing the ancient treasures they dig up.
La chimera is a 2023 comedy-drama film written and directed by Alice Rohrwacher. It is set in Italy in the 1980s in a small town on the Tyrrhenian Sea and stars Josh O'Connor as a British archaeologist-turned-grave robber with a gift for divining the locations of Etruscan tombs. Isabella Rossellini, Alba Rohrwacher, Carol Duarte, and Vincenzo Nemolato appear in supporting roles.
