What is Diner about?

A former murderer and genius chef along with a waitress come together with a group of fantastical assassins in a diner. A girl with a hollowness in her heart, who believes that she belongs nowhere, is thrust into a series of attacks where she must struggle to find her will to live.

Diner is a 2019 Japanese crime film directed by Mika Ninagawa and written by Yumeaki Hirayama, based on a novel by Hirayama and a subsequent manga series by Takanori Kawai. The film stars Tina Tamashiro as Kanako, a young woman who is hired as a waitress at a restaurant owned by chef and former hitman Bombero that caters exclusively to professional killers.
