What is Amour about?
Georges and Anne are in their eighties. They are cultivated, retired music teachers. Their daughter, who is also a musician, lives abroad with her family. One day, Anne has a stroke, and the couple's bond of love is severely tested.
Amour is a 2012 romantic drama film written and directed by Michael Haneke, starring Jean-Louis Trintignant, Emmanuelle Riva and Isabelle Huppert. The narrative focuses on an elderly couple, Anne and Georges, who are retired music teachers with a daughter who lives abroad. One morning during breakfast, Anne has a stroke, and the ensuing complications reshape their lives. The film is an international co-production among the French, German, and Austrian companies Les Films du Losange, X Filme Creative Pool, and Wega Film.
