Directing style
Morales favors a tense, eye-level perspective framed primarily in medium shots, balancing a shallow depth of field to isolate characters within predominantly dark, interior settings. Lighting is driven heavily by natural sunlight, augmented by practical sources, firelight, and screen glows that carve shapes out of the dark night backdrops. The color palette relies on a stark contrast of deep blacks, charcoal grays, and blood reds offset by warm gold, brass, and sandy tones, occasionally shifting between cool, desaturated tones and saturated technicolor.
