Directing style

Argento’s visual style relies on interior night settings to build a tense, ominous atmosphere, framing subjects primarily at eye level in medium and closeup shots. He isolates characters through a shallow depth of field, utilizing practical lamps and windows to cut through the darkness. The color palette balances earthy, desaturated wood tones with cold, deep-blue shadows, creating a high-contrast environment suited for suspense and mystery.
