Directing style
Argento’s visual style relies on shallow-focus medium shots and close-ups, keeping the camera at eye-level to foster a tense, lonely intimacy within confined interior spaces. Her lighting is heavily grounded in practical sources, fluorescent fixtures, and windows, which illuminate nocturnal and daytime scenes with a stark realism. The color palette oscillates between cool, desaturated tones and warm, earthy hues, occasionally punctuated by sharp shocks of hot pink and soft rose.
