The story
The narrative of Wolf Children spans thirteen years, beginning with Hana, a nineteen-year-old college student, who falls in love with a mysterious "wolf man." Their romance blossoms, leading to marriage and the birth of two unique children: Yuki, born on a snowy day, and Ame, born on a rainy day. Both children inherit their father's ability to transform between human and wolf forms.
The family initially lives discreetly in a city, concealing Yuki and Ame's true nature. However, their quiet life is shattered by the sudden death of the wolf man. Faced with the challenge of raising two shapeshifting children alone and protecting their secret, Hana makes the pivotal decision to move to a secluded rural town, far from the city's prying eyes. This move sets the stage for Hana's journey of single parenthood and her children's coming of age, as they navigate their dual identities and the complexities of family life.
