The story

"Ne Zha 2" continues the journey of Ne Zha and Ao Bing, who, after a celestial lightning strike, exist as spirits. Their spiritual forms are unstable, facing imminent and complete dissipation. The film explores their struggle for continued existence as their very being hangs in the balance.

The central conflict arises when Taiyi devises a plan to restore Ne Zha and Ao Bing to their mortal forms using the Seven-colored Precious Lotus. This reconstruction process, however, is fraught with challenges. The narrative is driven by the efforts to overcome these numerous obstacles, determining the ultimate fate of Ne Zha and Ao Bing and whether they can regain their physical bodies. The story delves into themes of mythology, classic literature, and the historical context of its characters, alongside elements of dissociative identities as the protagonists navigate their spiritual and potentially future physical selves.
