Miriam Margolyes is a British-Australian actress, writer, political activist and television personality, most prominent as a character actor on stage and screen. Her earliest roles were in theatre and, following a transition to film and television, she won a BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Age of Innocence (1993).
