Rosalie Anderson MacDowell is an American actress and former fashion model. MacDowell is known for her starring film roles in romantic comedies and dramas. She has modelled for Calvin Klein and has been a spokeswoman for L'Oréal since 1986.

Her early films include Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984) and the Brat Pack vehicle film St. Elmo's Fire (1985). Her breakout role was in Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989), which earned her the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead and a  Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress – Motion Picture Drama.
